A heart-warming act of kindness has transformed the life of seven-year-old Abigail Adjiri who won the hearts of many as the winner of season 14 of TV3’s Talented Kidz.

Abigail, who has been grappling with a hearing impairment, recently received a life-changing hearing aid courtesy of a generous fan during an episode of Onua Showtime’s “M’asem.”

The M’asem segment of the life-impacting and educative Onua Showtime regularly hosted by Nana Ama McBrown aims to give a platform to struggling and vulnerable individuals to air their challenges and seek support from the general public

In an interview on Onua Showtime’s “Masem,” Abigail’s mother, Evelyn, opened up about her daughter’s hearing impairment and the challenges it posed. She explained that Abigail required a hearing aid or surgery implant to assist her in hearing. Following a previous appearance on Onua Showtime, the family received an outpouring of support from viewers who were eager to help.

Evelyn revealed that a US-based good samaritan named Joycelyn had reached out to offer assistance to Abigail. Joycelyn, who had been touched by Abigail’s story, connected with Evelyn and directed her to her sister, Hager, who would facilitate the delivery of the hearing aid.

The hearing aid underwent a thorough assessment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and was then programmed in Haatso to ensure it met Abigail’s specific needs.

Joycelyn expressed her gratitude to the host of Onua Showtime, Nana Ama McBrown, for providing a platform to make a difference in people’s lives. She shared her admiration for Abigail’s ability to dance to the rhythm despite her hearing impairment, which inspired her to extend a helping hand.

The hearing aid provided to Abigail comes at a significant cost, amounting to USD $5,000, inclusive of taxes. Additionally, an insurance package worth USD $400 was included to ensure the continued care and maintenance of the device.

To demonstrate the profound impact of this generous gesture, the host conducted a live test during the show to determine if Abigail could now hear. Abigail was asked to count numbers from 1 to 10, and to the amazement of everyone present, she successfully completed the task, showcasing the impact of the hearing aid.
