Kumawood actor, Agya Koo has addressed the allegations surrounding the funding of his extravagant mansion in Kumasi by various sources including his industry inmate, Oboy Siki.
Agya Koo in a recent interview on Kumasi-based Kessben FM refuted claims that his mansion was made possible through his involvement with the ruling NPP government.
Contrary to the rumours circulating on social media, Agya Koo revealed that the building had been in existence since 2007.
He clarified that while he endorsed the NPP, the completion of his house had nothing to do with any financial assistance from the party.
“The building was there in 2007 and even the time I endorsed NPP, I completed the house just that I didn’t paint it. Sometimes I wonder why people try to peddle lies to make it look like that’s the truth because I built my own house from scratch” Agya Koo emphasized, expressing his bewilderment at the attempts to peddle falsehoods as truth.
Dismissing the speculations further, Agya Koo addressed additional claims of him being awarded contracts by the NPP.
“I heard that I have been given a contract by NPP to buy cocoa, someone said I deal with fuel by a contract given to me by NPP but they were all lies” the veteran actor said
Addressing the other allegations, he stated, “I don’t want to give Oboy Siki the attention because he spoke with hatred but that will not stop me from doing what I can do to motivate others”
The veteran actor highlighted his commitment to his work and the importance of financial stability, explaining that he saves money to prepare for any unforeseen emergencies.
“I don’t want to be in a wheelchair one day and then come on social media to beg for money,” he affirmed
The unveiling of Agya Koo’s lavish mansion in Kumasi has stirred up controversy within the entertainment industry, leading to a reaction from fellow actor Oboy Siki.

Oboy Siki, in an earlier interview, alleged that Agya Koo’s funding came from an endorsement deal with the NPP in 2016.
He argued that actors cannot afford such opulent houses solely through their earnings from acting.
“Agya was sidelined in the movie industry, so things weren’t going well for him, so in 2016, he went to do an endorsement for NPP, and that is where he got enough money. So, I want to explain to Ghanaians that, for us, the movie actors, if we can build, our money cannot build a proper house,” he explained.
This revelation has sparked a heated debate among fans and followers of the actors, with opinions divided on social media.
While some believe Oboy Siki’s claims, others stand by Agya Koo’s assertion of independent funding for his mansion.
