According to the Afrobeats sensation, after the success of his single “Sugarcane” on the international stage, he realized that this was the perfect moment to make his mark.
Recognizing that opportunities like these come “once in a lifetime,” Camidoh and his team embarked on an ambitious plan to promote his music beyond Ghana’s borders.
“I feel like that the shot comes once like they say opportunity comes but once in a lifetime. So when my single ‘sugarcane’ started doing well on the international scene, we decided that this was the opportunity to grab and just market it properly so we would do shows all over the African continent,” he told AJ on Friday morning.
He also mentioned that he and his team invested their time, effort, and resources into marketing and promoting his brand across every platform.
“Even times we had to put our own money in organising our stuff and go out there. I don’t know if you saw us do a media tour. I feel like it’s just what your goal is as an individual or as an artiste,” he said
Camidoh’s ultimate goal is to be “cemented globally,” and he believes that his music has the potential to resonate with people all over the world.
His approach involves making strategic connections, touring internationally, and performing at shows across different countries.
“My goal is to be cemented globally because I make music that resonates with people all over the world. We do what we can do, touching base with media houses, going on tours and doing shows,” he added
Camidoh who snugged two awards at the recently held Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) will be up against Asake from Nigeria, Raye and Flo from the UK, Labianca from Cameroon, Maureen and Werenoi from France, MC Ryan FC from Brazil, and Pabi Cooper from South Africa for the Best New International Act nominee on June 25 at the Microsoft Theatre.
