Ghanaian musician, Black Sherif has spoken about his celebration following his win at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Black Sherif, whose real name is Mohammed Ismail Sherif, won the Artiste of the Year award at the recently held VGMA on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
The 21-year-old musician has quickly become one of the most talked-about artists in Ghana and his win was met with widespread acclaim.
In an interview with Berla Mundi and Cookie Tee, Black Sheriff spoke about how he celebrated his VGMA win, revealing that the party took place all over the nation
“It happened nationwide, there was no coverage but it was in the air. I could feel it, no one had to tell me. You heard what Bob Marley said ‘There’s a natural mystic flow in the air.’ so that night the energy, the ghetto youth was feeling it,” he said

Black Sheriff went on to explain that he celebrated his win with a small gathering of people who are close to him at his home in Spintex, a suburb of Accra.
“We had our own celebration with the Rastas in our house at Spintex,” he said. “But we will be going to Konongo this weekend, to go show them the award and that we are home”

Recall that in an earlier interview with Zion Felix prior to the grand finale, Blacko had detailed how he and his team will celebrate if VGMA crowned his hard work with the ultimate title.
The musician, who hails from Konongo Zongi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, has been making waves in the Ghanaian music industry with his unique sound that blends hip-hop and Ghanaian highlife music.

He first gained attention with his hit single ‘First Sermon’ and has since released several other successful albums, including “Second Sermon” and “The Villain I Never Was.”
