Ghanaian singer Mzbel has drawn an intriguing comparison between the late Ghanaian Hiplife artiste Castro and the Nigerian music sensation Burna Boy.
In a recent interview with Kingdom FM, Mzbel expressed her belief that if Castro were still alive today, he would be standing on par with Burna Boy regarding global recognition and success.
Castro, born Theophilus Tagoe, was a multifaceted talent who captivated audiences with his musical prowess and exceptional stage presence.
Tragically, his life was cut short in a Jet Ski accident in Ada Estuary in 2014, alongside Miss Janet Bandu.
Despite their bodies never being recovered, Castro’s legacy lives on, and Mzbel is convinced that he could have mirrored Burna Boy’s ascendancy in the music world.

In the interview, Mzbel emphasized Castro’s unparalleled uniqueness and unwavering dedication to his craft.
“He would have been just like Burna Boy,” Mzbel confidently asserted.
Mzbel also fondly reminisced about her personal experience collaborating with Castro, dubbing him as the best musician she has ever worked with.
“Because he is always working. He would try many times on whatever he wanted to do, his energy on stage, his voice and he is unique in his own way. So if he was still alive, Ghanaians would have had our own Burna Boy,” Mzbel confidently asserted.
The tragic incident in 2014 cast a sombre shadow over Ghana’s music scene, robbing it of a rising star who had much to offer.
