Ghanaian celebrities and media personalities react to Sarkodie’s response track to Yvonne Nelson on social media

Ghanaian celebrities and popular personalities’ response to Sarkodie‘s track, ‘Try Me’ directed at Yvonne Nelson‘s memoir, ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’ has been mixed with varying opinions and reactions on social media.

In the track, Sarkodie shares his side of the story regarding his past relationship with Yvonne Nelson.

The song, which has some very strong content characterized was released on June 28, 2023, at 1:4 am while most Ghanaians had retired to bed.

Notable personalities, including Prince David Osei, Kwadwo Sheldon, Osagyefo Oliver Barker-Vormawo,  CountryManSongo and Ypee, have shared their thoughts, leading to a diverse range of reactions from the Ghanaian public.

 

Prince David Osei, a close confidant of Yvonne Nelson, expressed his disapproval of the song, calling it “childish”

Activist, Osagyefo Oliver Barker-Vormawo urged Sarkodie to grow up and accept responsibility for his actions as mistakes are part of life, and individuals should acknowledge and learn from them.

He also labelled it as “tacky” and an immature rap.

 

MC and Entertainment pundit, Flexkgermain took to Twitter to stand in solidarity with Yvonne Nelson, stating that Ghanaian women and women worldwide should support her.

He also criticized Sarkodie for his action, highlighting the need for men to take responsibility for their actions.

Rapper, Cjbiggerman commented on Sarkodie’s energy and mentioned that the cap fits someone, indirectly alluding to the ongoing dispute between Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson.

Popular Ghanaian social media influencer,  Kwadwo Sheldon, stirred up controversy with his  tweet, “In conclusion, Yvonne Nelson is for the streets.”

KojoForex called Sarkodie a family man and criticized Yvonne Nelson for the attention and traction she gave a 15-year-old issue.

Ghanaian musician Ypee also took a different stance, expressing his admiration for Sarkodie’s response track referring to him as the “Landlord”

Sports Journalist, CountryManSongo also posted a message on the micro-blogging site teasing Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson.

 

Hiplife Musician, Captain Planet also reacted to Pappy Kojo’s viral video who is also rumoured to be Yvonne Nelson’s ex-boyfriend.

 

Blogger, NYDJ Live in an explainer video questioned the difficulty Yvonne Nelson had in understanding that Sarkodie replied through music.

As the reactions from Ghanaian celebrities keep pouring, there were also differing opinions and emotions from users on Twitter surrounding Sarkodie’s response track.
