Gospel artist Rev. Obaapa Christy in a recent interview on ONUA FM’s Adwuma Adwuma with Osei Felicia has proudly maintained her continued relevance in the music industry even after two decades.

Recounting her journey in the music industry, the veteran Gospel Powerhouse said she was deeply appreciative of the opportunities and blessings that have propelled her brand to new heights.

“The industry has been treating us very, very good because we were from nowhere, and God has brought us this far,” she stated.

According to the ‘Hyebre Sesafo’ hitmaker, she came from very humble beginnings and was unexpectant with the nature of her success given her background.

“In the human understanding I should be nowhere near this status I have achieved if you consider my background,” she told Felicia Osei.

Further expressing her gratitude, she stated, “Some of us grew up thinking we’ll be traders, even though I could sing and did it in church. I never would have thought that I’ll do it professionally and in the gospel industry. God has never failed me,”

Currently celebrating two decades in the music industry, Obaapa Christy acknowledged her enduring relevance even in changing times and attributed it to her maker.

“It’s been 20 years down the line, and Obaapa Christy is still very relevant,” she proudly asserted.

She also disclosed that what brings her particular joy is the recognition she receives from people in her day-to-day life.

“I like the fact that when I’m in a car driving and people turn to watch me. Sometimes I ask my kids how they even notice me without makeup. God has given me a special favour and I appreciate it so much,” she shared
