Ghanaian music star, Mr. Drew, has indicated that he does not enjoy being tagged as “Ghana’s Chris Brown.”
The Highlife and Afrobeats musician and dancer in a recent interview with Kojo Manuel on YFM, expressed his sentiments on the comparison between himself and the famous R&B singer.
According to the ‘Superman’ singer, he’ll prefer to be addressed as Mr Drew and not that Ghanaian version of any individual.
“Lots of people call me Ghana’s Chris Brown but for me, I prefer they stop. I just want to be Mr. Drew and that’s all,” he expressed.
Born, Andrew Nii Commey Otoo, Mr Drew, 26, said being associated with Chris Brown came with a lot of pressure and it could push him towards certain things he actively tries to stay away from.
However, Mr Drew was quick to acknowledge the ‘SuperHero’ singer as a great personality and artist who has had an impact on his own career and his global influence.

He also emphasised that he was focused on carving out his own unique identity and establishing himself on a large scale.
“Chris Brown has already established himself in the world and on a very large scale, so that’s what I’m also trying to do for my career. But don’t call me Ghana’s Chris Brown. I want to be known as Mr. Drew,” Mr. Drew asserted.

Chris Brown and Mr Drew have not met yet but it remains to be seen how that would pan out if the two met on a joint or collaborated on a dance challenge.
