John Dumelo’s announcement comes in the wake of an awe-inspiring expedition by Wanderlust Ghana, a group of intrepid Ghanaians who embarked on an epic 10,000-kilometer road trip from Accra to London.
The adventurers, consisting of thirteen spirited individuals, commenced their extraordinary journey on July 23, 2023.
Their meticulously planned route took them through a tapestry of scenic towns and cities, each stop revealing new experiences and challenges.
Starting from Accra, the group journeyed through Aburi, Nsawam, Kumasi, Sunyani, and Dormaa, before crossing into Cote d’Ivoire via Golokrom and unfolded to Mali, Senegal, Mauritania, and Morocco before crossing a ferry into Spain.
The ensemble piloted a fleet of five distinct Ghanaian-registered vehicles – including a Mercedez Benz G-Wagon, two Toyota Landcruisers (V8), a Lexus RX 350, and a Ford F150 Raptor – embarked on a voyage that saw their cars become vessels of cherished memories.
Richard Anim, Kwadwo Saka, Kwame Peprah, Kofi Peprah, Kwadwo Prakah-Asante, Franklin Peters, and his son Quincy, Joseph, Cyprian Ed, Kwabena Ayirebi, his brother Kojo, and the sole female driver, Nana Afua Serwaa, formed the intrepid crew that navigated the diverse landscapes and cultures encountered along the way.
Their extraordinary journey was undoubtedly accompanied by unexpected experiences that tested their determination and resourcefulness.
John Dumelo’s declaration to undertake a similar journey, albeit from Ghana to South Africa, resonates with the spirit of adventure that seems to be sweeping through the Ghanaian community.
