Ghanaian gospel musician, Piesie Esther has expressed her disappointment for not winning the Songwriter of the Year and Best Music Video awards at the 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
In an interview with Berla Mundi and Cookiee Tee on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, Piesie Esther revealed that she had high hopes of winning both awards for her hard work and dedication to her craft.
“Oh my goodness, I wanted to pick awards for Songwriter of the Year and Best Music Video. I believe the video for Way3 Me Yie was well top-notch and deserved to win,” she said.
Despite missing out on the two awards, Piesie Esther was happy that the songwriter of the year went to fellow gospel musician Perez Music for his song ‘Hewale Lala’.
“For that one, it’s fine by me but I wished I could have snagged the Best Video Award,” she maintained.
