Veteran Nollywood actor Saint Obi passes on after brief illness


Renowned Nollywood actor, Saint Obi, has tragically passed away after a brief illness. The unfortunate incident took place on Sunday, May 6, 2023.

It has been reported by several media outlets in Nigeria that Saint Obi battled an undisclosed illness for several months, undergoing treatment and frequent visits to the hospital.

According to a reliable source close to the family who disclosed the news of the actor’s demise on Sunday, the thespian died at home and his body was transported to the morgue at Jos University Teaching Hospital after a visit to his sister’s residence in Jos.

Saint Obi, 57, had recently relocated to Jos, the capital of Plateau State, where his sister resides.

During his time there, he was often seen being transported to the hospital, a fact that was confirmed by a source at JUTH.

Born in Imo State, Saint Obi was a highly regarded actor who made his mark in the Nigerian film industry.

Throughout his illustrious career, he appeared in over 100 movies, showcasing his exceptional talent and captivating audiences with his performances.
