#VGMA24: God rewards hard work – Mark Okraku-Mantey on Black Sherif

Deputy Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mark Okraku-Mantey has said regarding the crowning of Black Sherif as the artiste of the year at the just-ended 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) on Saturday, May 6 that God rewards hard work.

The event went deep into the next day, on which the main award was given.

Mr Okraku-Mantey said just before announcing the artiste of the year that “ladies and gentlemen God rewards hard work.”

The event was held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).

Black Sherif, popularly known as Blacko, was crowned the Artiste of the Year, becoming one of the youngest artistes to win the award.

  6. Best Collaboration of the Year – Countryside by Sarkodie ft Black Sherif
  7. International Collaboration of the Year – Sugar Cane by Camidoh ft Phantom
  8. Best Afropop Song of the Year – Therapy by Stonebwoy
  9. Producer of the Year – MOG Beatz
  10. Best Afrobeats Song of the Year – Camidoh
  11. Best Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year – Epixode
  12. Best Music Video – Konongo by Black Sherif
  13. Lifetime Achiever Award for 2023 – Abrekyireba Kofi Sammy
  14. Best African Artiste – Asake
  15. Best Highlife Song of the Year – Down Flat by KelvynBoy
  16. Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste of the Year – King Promise
  17. Songwriter of the Year – Perez Music
  18. Best Highlife Artiste of the Year – Kofi Kinaata
  19. Best Gospel Artiste of the Year – Piesie Esther
  20. Best Hiplife/Hiphop Artiste of the Year – Sarkodie
  21. Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year – Stonebwoy
