Veteran Kumawood actor Oboy Siki has made a U-turn regarding his previous statement on the funding of his colleague, Agya Koo’s Kumasi mansion.
Agya Koo, a few weeks ago unveiled his magnificent mansion in Kumasi, which triggered a reaction from his colleague, OBoy Siki, who revealed the New Patriotic Party had funded the project.
According to Oboy Siki, no actor can afford to build such an opulent house solely with earnings from acting.
“Agya was sidelined in the movie industry, so things weren’t going well for him, so in 2016, he went to do an endorsement for NPP, and that is where he got enough money. So, I want to explain to Ghanaians that, for us, the movie actors, if we can build, our money cannot build a proper house,” he explained.
In a new interview on Angel FM, Oboy Siki confessed that he lied about Agya Koo’s mansion funding.

He admitted that his previous statements were made for hype and attention, even though they were taken out of context.
“We were trying to create a buzz,” the veteran actor disclosed “We thought that if we said something controversial, people would talk about us. But I realize now that what we did was wrong. We should not have said what we said.”
Oboy Siki shared that he was remorseful for spreading such false information about his colleague and acknowledged that he had a change of heart. He also apologized to his fans and to the general public for his behaviour.
“I am truly sorry for what I did, I hope that you can forgive me,” he said.
Agya Koo’s extravagant mansion in Kumasi since its unveiling has sparked a debate online over the architectural aesthetics and source of his funding but the veteran actor during the open house party revealed that it took him nearly seven years of hard work to construct the edifice.
