Ghanaian blogger and publicist of Hajia 4 Real, known as GHHyper, has come under fire for alleged biased reporting after his quick publication of news about Black Sherif’s arrest.
The ‘Kweku The Traveller‘ singer was arrested at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on the evening of July 19, 2023.
Whiles most media organisations were yet to share the news, blogger GHHyper was among the first to publish the information without providing context or additional details surrounding the incident.
This prompted social media users to accuse the blogger of favouritism and failure to provide fair and balanced reporting.
Numerous social media users took to various platforms to voice their disapproval of GHHyper’s actions.
Some highlighted that while he was quick to report on Black Sherif’s arrest, he had remained silent about Hajia 4 Real’s legal situation in the United States, where she is awaiting trial for alleged involvement in federal crimes.
“You couldn’t publish Hajia’s own but you are here screaming Blacko’s own.And so lets of what?? At least he’s legit in his money-making,” an Instagram user wrote
This inconsistency in reporting raised concerns about biased coverage.
Kyei 24 wrote, “The way people are bashing hyper be serious ???? ????. Hyper ankasa I don’t know why he chose to be biased like that. I will be happy if hyper comes out to make an apology and make things right. He must also know that business is business and he shouldn’t use secoff he/she is my friend”
As the criticism mounted, GHHyper faced calls from social media users to issue an apology and rectify the situation.
Rhitass posted,” I must say I love the comments here. Ghanaians hate nonsense.”
Akua9937 also commented, The speed you got to post this first on your page ???? bring details of Hajia4reall own first. Bias boy.
The backlash against GHHyper’s biased reporting resulted in the blogger taking down all posts related to Black Sherif’s arrest on his social media platforms.
