Yvonne Nelson’s mentioning my name in her memoir hurt me but she’ll always be my baby – Iyanya

Nigerian music star Iyanya who is currently in Ghana promoting his new Ep, Love and Trust, has disclosed that his connection with actress and author, Yvonne Nelson will always endure irrespective of their past fallout.

Speaking on Showbiz 360 with Giovanni Caleb, the popular Nigerian musician indicated that though the memoir, ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson’ hurt him, he still had a soft spot for the writer.

“I was hurt and I told her. She’ll always be my baby. She is a sweet girl regardless of all the madness,” he commented.

He added that, “Everybody in here has been through one but it’s just because we are famous people. We’re going to go crazy sometimes but we’re cool.”

The ‘Kukere’ singer also took time on the show to promote the release of his new EP which features other African stars.

” I just dropped my EP. It’s called Love and Trust. I’m promoting that here and I’ve been to a few TV and radio stations.  I have 6 songs on there. One of the songs is called Breakfast. There’s Allowed, Love and Trust featuring Joeboy, Woman: to all the ladies in the world and Plans because I’ve got big for you guys,” he revealed.

When asked why there was no Ghanaian on his album, Iyanya said that the previous one he released had a Ghanaian on it.

“So before this EP, I dropped another EP. I have Kwame Eugene on that one. It’s called Sweet Argentina. It is a beautiful song. You should check it out. We intend to shoot the video in a few weeks,” he explained.
