Bayern Munich have confirmed that Sadio Mane is in discussions for a potential transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.
The 31-year-old Senegal forward has been offered the opportunity to join the Saudi club after struggling in his first season in Germany.
Mane is currently with Bayern on their pre-season tour of Asia, but he was notably left out of the squad for Saturday’s friendly match against Kawasaki Frontale in Tokyo. The club’s statement clarified the reason for his absence, stating, “Sadio Mane is in contract talks ahead of a possible transfer and so is not in today’s squad.”

Mane joined Bayern Munich just last summer, signing a three-year contract after a £35 million move from Liverpool. During his debut season at the German club, Mane made 38 appearances and scored 12 goals, contributing to Bayern’s 11th consecutive Bundesliga title victory.
Despite his initial success, Mane faced challenges during the season, which led to him falling out of favour with the team.
Al-Nassr have been actively bolstering their squad, with the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, in December. This summer, they have also secured the services of Croatia midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, Brazil full-back Alex Telles, and Ivory Coast midfielder Seko Fofana.
