Despite his flourishing football career, Paintsil remains passionate about music and finds time to write and sing. His love for music was first revealed when he posted a video on his social media accounts in October 2022, showcasing his rap and singing skills.
Paintsil now joins the ranks of other Ghanaian footballers such as Asamoah Gyan, Emmanuel Boateng and John Boye who also balance their football careers with a passion for music.
Paintsil, who is currently with Black Stars preparing for Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar, made a significant impact in the just-ended season contributing to a total of 29 goals in all competitions. He scored 17 goals and provided 12 assists in 36 appearances for his club, KRC Genk.
The 25-year-old expressed that he does not feel pressured to score at all costs for the national team, despite his impressive goal-scoring and assist record.
“For me, I am not really under pressure you know. My style of play is to always help the team in terms of giving assists, in terms of fighting, in terms of defending, in terms of taking players on that’s my task. If I score, we thank God but the most important thing is the team,” he said in a press conference after the Black Stars’ second training at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday.
