Chelsea are willing to pay almost 80% of the remaining wages on Baba Rahman’s contract, as the player and the club move closer to contract termination, according to Londonworld’s Rahman Osman.
The development comes as Greek side PAOK eagerly await Rahman’s availability to sign him for the upcoming season.
In a bid to facilitate Rahman’s departure, Chelsea have offered to cover a significant portion of his one-year contract, easing the financial burden for both the player and potential suitors.
However, the Premier League club are also looking to insert a clause that would ensure they receive a share of any financial benefits if PAOK were to qualify for European competitions in the future.
PAOK, currently aiming to participate in this year’s Europa Conference League, are very much interested in adding Rahman to their squad. The Greek club see the left-back as a valuable addition who could enhance their chances of returning to European competition.

Rahman completed a successful loan spell with PAOK during the second half of the 2021 league season. He made 13 appearances in the league, scored a goal, and played a key role in helping the team secure victory in the Greek Cup.
The 29-year-old’s imminent departure from Chelsea marks the end of a frustrating spell for the player, who struggled to establish himself in the first team since joining the club in 2015. He has spent the past six seasons on loan at various clubs, including Schalke 04, Stade Reims, and Reading, where he has played for the past two seasons.
