Former Black Stars midfielder Agyemang-Badu prays for twins to follow in his footsteps

Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu expressed his heartfelt desire for twins during his recent traditional marriage ceremony on Thursday, November 9, 2023.

His unique wish is that one of the twins becomes a football star for the Black Stars, while the other shines on the pitch for the Black Queens – the senior female national team of Ghana.

The former U-20 World Cup winner in a joyous traditional ceremony which drew guests and dignitaries finally tied the knot with her lover Reggietta Affua Arthur.

“I want twins; one for the Black Stars and another for the Black Queens. Amen!” Agyemang-Badu prayed during the ceremony.

Notably, the National Chief Imam who was among the renowned personalities bestowed his blessings upon their union with members of the famous East Legon Executive Club as well as former Black Stars players gracing the occasion to support their friend who has begun a new chapter in his life.

Agyemang-Badu, known for his international football career, made a name for himself as a member of the Black Satellites team that triumphed in the U-20 World Cup in Egypt in 2009.

He was also part of the Black Stars squad that finished as runners-up in the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola. Unfortunately, an injury kept him from participating in the 2010 World Cup.

While he returned to represent his country in the subsequent Africa Cup of Nations and the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Agyemang-Badu called time on his international football career in January 2021.

Currently without a club after parting ways with Ghana Premier League side Great Olympics, he is now looking forward to a different kind of success – one that might be realised through his future children.
