Disgruntled fans of Hearts of Oak expressed their disappointment by booing the players following the team’s exit from the MTN FA Cup on Wednesday.

The Phobians, in what was supposed to be a celebration of their first official match at the Pobiman Sports Complex this season ended up in dismay.

Despite their remarkable efforts, Hearts of Oak failed to secure a goal against Nania FC in the round of 64 for the FA Cup. The game was eventually decided by penalty shootouts, where the hosts missed crucial chances, leading to their ultimate defeat.

As the players departed the field, fans voiced their displeasure by booing, highlighting their dissatisfaction with the team’s performance.

The defeat is the first recorded under interim boss Abdul Rahim Bashiru having secured a win over Accra Lions and a draw against Berekum Chelsea in his first two games after the departure of Dutch trainer Martin Koopman.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak currently holds the sixth position in the Ghana Premier League, accumulating 16 points after 12 games.

The team will now redirect their focus to the upcoming match against Aduana Stars on Sunday, marking matchday 13 of the league.
