In a fascinating revelation, Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has claimed that his will to avoid alcohol is the reason behind his handsomeness.
In addition to his playing abilities, the former Black Stars striker, who officially hung up his boots a few months ago, gained a lot of followers for his good looks, which led to numerous women supposedly giving him open proposals.
The former Al Ain forward claimed during an Instagram live session with his followers that despite being a person who enjoys entertainment, he does not drink alcohol, which he believes is the cause of his ‘fineness.’
“I don’t drink that’s why I’m this fine. It doesn’t mean that I’m condemning those who drink alcohol but the secret to my fineness is that I don’t drink alcohol,” he said, as quoted by Ghanaweb.
The 37-year-old was an essential member of the Black Stars leading the team in several tournaments as a striker and eventually setting significant records.
While his 109 caps may be broken by Andre Ayew who now has 115 appearances for Ghana, Gyan’s 51 goals remain a long hurdle for any striker to cross in years to come.
The former Sunderland forward also left the world’s most coveted competition the World Cup with a prestigious achievement of being the leading African scorer after scoring six goals in three editions.
Gyan has also championed key scouting initiatives to unearth talents as he aims to mentor young players who strive to be like him.
