Kylian Mbappe teases PSG teammate Ousmane Dembele over goal drought

France forward Kylian Mpabbe has engaged in a lighthearted banter trolling his teammate Ousmane Dembele for being wasteful.

The 26-year-old forward who recently joined Paris Saint-Germain for €50 million from Barcelona has faced challenges finding the back of the net for his new club despite his recognised talents including his remarkable pace, exceptional passing and dribbling abilities.

Dembele’s goal-scoring struggles have led to occasional teasing from fans on social media. However, his teammate Kylian Mbappe took the teasing to another level during a viral interview at a OneSight foundation event, which aims to provide eye tests for underprivileged children.

In his playful and lighthearted style, Mbappe suggested that Dembele might need glasses to improve his goal-scoring ability. With a chuckle, Mbappe jokingly stated,

“Who could I give glasses to? Oh well, I could give some to Ousmane Dembélé; it would help him score (laughs). With questions like that, the best thing is to shoot your friends (laughs).”

As Dembele continues his quest for his first goal with PSG this season having already gone without one in nine Ligue 1 appearances, the club will also be hoping to step up in their bid to defend the title as they currently sit second behind Nice after 10 matches.

PSG will engage Montpellier in their next clash as they look to occupy the top spot of the competition.
