Argentina comfortably beat Australia in an international friendly on Thursday, with Lionel Messi scoring the fastest goal of his career.
The Argentine superstar found the back of the net within two minutes of the start of the friendly match against Australia.
Argentina emerged victorious with a 2-0 win, and Messi played a prominent role in securing the comfortable victory for the reigning World Cup champions.
Messi, who recently announced a move to American club Inter Miami, started the game and he wasted no time in leaving his mark on the match.
Assisted by Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, Messi beautifully curled the ball into the net during the opening 120 seconds, achieving a personal milestone.

Despite being 35 years old and having amassed over 800 goals throughout his remarkable career, this was the first time Messi scored within the first two minutes of a game.
This accomplishment leaves him with only the goal within the first 60 seconds of a match to complete that particular set.
Messi’s outstanding performance against Australia, who were their opponents in the World Cup round of 16, showcased his exceptional skills. However, he will not participate in Monday’s friendly against Indonesia.
