Bayern Munich and Germany’s seasoned goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, has inked a contract extension with the Bundesliga champions, ensuring his stay until 2025.
The 37-year-old shot-stopper, who triumphantly returned to the team in October following a ten-month hiatus due to a right leg injury sustained during a skiing trip, expressed his joy about the extended partnership.
With an impressive track record, including 11 league titles and 494 appearances for Bayern, Neuer shared his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m happy to be staying at FC Bayern for another year. After my long injury, I’m back in full swing.” Neuer emphasized the immense enjoyment he finds in playing alongside the team and expressed confidence in achieving significant goals in the upcoming years.
Neuer, a key figure in Bayern’s success, looks forward to aiming for major accomplishments, including the 2025 Champions League final in Munich. The Allianz Arena, hosting the final for the second time, holds special significance for Neuer, who seeks to redeem the team’s 2012 penalty shootout loss to Chelsea.
During Neuer’s absence, Sven Ulreich stepped up as the second-choice goalkeeper and earned a contract extension until 2025. Neuer acknowledged the support, stating, “Knowing that I still have Sven by my side makes it even nicer.”
Bayern Munich, currently sitting second in the Bundesliga, unbeaten this season, appears poised for continued success with the stalwart presence of Neuer guarding the goal.
