West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus has secured a prominent spot as the third most in-form player in the ongoing English Premier League, following his stellar performances for the Hammers.

The 23-year-old Ghanaian attacker, who joined West Ham from Ajax in the previous transfer window, has notched up six Premier League goals and a total of 10 in all competitions.

Kudus’ recent strike against Manchester United, sealing a 2-0 win for West Ham, further solidified his impact. According to Whoscored, he holds a rating of 8.03, making him the third most in-form player ahead of the Boxing Day fixtures, trailing AFC Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke (8.11) and Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold (8.04).

In December alone, Kudus has scored four goals in the Premier League, earning acclaim from football enthusiasts.

Despite being a target for several top clubs during the summer transfer window, he has proven his worth at West Ham, with notable figures like Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel expressing disappointment in his former team’s decision not to secure the Ghanaian.

Schmeichel questioned the transfer choice, particularly favouring Antony over Kudus, stating, “There’s something about that boy [Kudus], he’s special. I don’t get it, if he [Ten Hag] knows these boys very well, why did he pick Antony ahead of Kudus?”

As West Ham face Arsenal on Thursday, December 28, 2023, Kudus aims to maintain his impressive form.

Additionally, he is anticipated to play a crucial role for the Black Stars in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled to be held in Ivory Coast next month.
