Nana Yaw Amponsah hails Sark’s Otan as greatest Ghanaian tune since Woyaya

Former CEO of Asante Kotoko Nana Yaw Amponsah has lauded Sarkodie’s latest song ‘Otan,’ declaring it as one of the greatest songs ever produced in Ghana.


The renowned Ghanaian rapper released the hit track earlier this month and it has swiftly climbed to the top of charts, currently holding the No. 1 position on Boomplay’s weekly chart and amassing over 700,000 views on YouTube.

In a recent X (Twitter post, Amponsah, who also made a bid for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidency in 2019, expressed his admiration for Sarkodie’s ‘Otan. He stated, “Sark’s Otan arguably the greatest Ghanaian tune since Osibisa’s Woyaya.”

Nana Yaw Amponsah’s praise positions ‘Otan’ alongside timeless classics like Osibisa’s ‘Woyaya,’ emphasising the impact and significance he attributes to Sarkodie’s latest creation.

Meanwhile, Amponsah recently concluded his term as CEO at Asante Kotoko, following the dissolution of the board and management that he led.

Despite the challenges, Kotoko have seen a resurgence in their recent performances in the Ghana Premier League. Currently unbeaten in their last six matches, including five wins and a draw, the Porcupine Warriors sit in seventh place with 23 points after 15 matches, showcasing an impressive turnaround in form.
