International barbering sensation, Nikki Okyere, has disclosed that former Super Eagles striker, Yakubu Ayibeni was responsible for his popularity on the international scene.
The renowned international barber has been in the business for almost 20 years limiting himself to footballers.
Speaking on 3FM Sports Ultra, Okyere expressed his gratitude to God for changing the narrative since barbers are not privileged enough to get interviewed on radio stations.
He further asserted that Ayibeni was the reason behind his popularity and expressed his gratitude.
He stated, “Let me go straight forward and say Thank you to Yakubu Ayibeni for the privilege. He was the first footballer that made me cut his hair in the UK and afterwards, I went everywhere.”

A favourite of African footballers especially, he highlighted that every barber should have more than talent if their career is going to take off.
“It gets to a point where it is not only about haircuts. It comes with passion and some kind of energy you need to pour out,” he advised.
Nikki Okyere strongly believes that the haircuts were not enough but the customer service he offered to Yakubu accounted for the subsequent popularity he attracted.
“I don’t think it is only the haircut because he just loved the service and afterwards, he posted it. Now, everybody is looking forward to having an experience with Nikki,” he indicated.
