Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi recently visited Eternity Network International (ENI), a church led by renowned Nigerian televangelist Apostle Joshua Selman, where he testified and expressed gratitude to God for helping the club avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Awoniyi played a crucial role in Forest’s survival, scoring the decisive goal that secured the team’s safety. His winning goal against Arsenal resulted in a vital 1-0 victory, ultimately saving Forest from relegation in the recently concluded season.

Recognising the significance of divine intervention, Awoniyi firmly believes that without God’s involvement, Forest’s survival in the top flight would have been impossible.

During his testimony, Awoniyi shared, ”The day I was privileged to see Pastor Joshua Selman, he prayed for me and that was the turning point of my life,” Awoniyi started during his testimony time.

“Every time I used to listen to Daddy’s sermon and that has really helped. Before the season ended, I went for revival for two days in which I told my wife that I won’t be at home and I am that we escaped relegation,” he added.

The Super Eagles striker had an impressive start to his Premier League journey, scoring 10 goals in 27 appearances, in addition to an extra goal for Forest in the EFL Cup.
