West Ham United, in a bid to celebrate Mohammed Kudus’ goal against Manchester United, once again incorporated Ghanaian music into the scene.
The club’s official handle posted a TikTok video highlighting Kudus’ exceptional goal in the English Premier League. The video was accompanied by the popular Ghanaian Christmas song “December to Remember,” bringing an additional layer of excitement to the celebration.
Kudus played a pivotal role in the game, contributing to West Ham’s second goal after Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring. The TikTok video, accompanied by the festive song, highlighted the significance of the match as West Ham’s last game before Christmas.

In a post-match interview, Kudus referred to his goal as a Christmas present for the fans, aligning with the festive theme of the video. The use of Ghanaian songs in football celebrations, as seen with Kudus, emphasises the influence of local music in the global sports scene.
Kudus, known for promoting Ghanaian music, previously mentioned Stonebwoy as his favourite artiste. An earlier photo also posted by West Ham United on the same platform also featured Sarkodie’s “Otan” song, showcasing the connection between Kudus and Ghanaian music.
Since joining West Ham from Ajax in the summer, Kudus has been a standout performer, scoring 10 goals in various competitions. As he continues his success at the club level, expectations are high for Kudus to make a significant impact with the Black Stars in the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
