Inspired by Aisha’s grandmother, a Ghanaian seamstress who never had her own label, Christie Brown pays homage to the artisans and visionaries that came before them.
The brand draws inspiration from the vibrant fabrics sold by women in crowded market stalls and the skilled seamstresses who meticulously craft each garment.
The Christie Brown team expressed their gratitude to costume designer Amit Gajwani for his intentional choices in incorporating their designs into the film.
“THANK YOU to costume designer @amitgajwani for your intentionality in your choices, thank you to @gabunion and the entire production team for championing the use of African fashion brands,” a portion of their caption said.
They also thanked Gabrielle Union and the entire production team for championing the use of African fashion brands. Additionally, Showroom Etc Etc, a reputable fashion representation and management agency, played a pivotal role in brokering this opportunity for Christie Brown.
“The Perfect Find” has garnered praise and recognition, including winning the Audience Award at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Meanwhile, Atto Tetteh, an African luxury streetwear brand hailing from Ghana, also had the privilege of showcasing their designs in “The Perfect Find.”
They proudly shared an image of Keith Powers, one of the actors in the series, wearing their multi-leather jacket.
