Renowned highlife maestro Adane Best has revealed that the much-anticipated remix of his classic hit song “Ayitey” is yet to see the light of day.

The delay in its release is attributed to Black Sherif’s demanding schedule, which has hindered their collaborative efforts.

Speaking candidly in a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz, the esteemed highlife artist explained the inspiration behind the remix and his decision to feature Black Sherif.

The reigning VGMA Artiste of the Year caught Adane Best’s attention when he performed “Ayitey” on stage while accepting the prestigious VGMA Artiste of the Year award in May.

The iconic artist expressed his belief in Black Sherif’s potential to elevate the remix. He conveyed, “Black Sherif will do well on the Ayitey remix. After winning VGMA Artiste of the Year, he performed Ayitey and I saw it trending everywhere. I have reached out to him but I guess he is busy at the moment. But at the right time, we will hit the studio and make it happen.”

Adane Best’s legacy in the highlife genre is marked by memorable hits like “Gyata Bi,” “Mafio,” “Dromo,” “Bie Shoo,” “Yoo, Dompe,” “Tie Memu Nsem,” “Suumo,” “Femo Dil,” “Abusun,” and “Rabbi,” among others.

Looking forward to celebrating his remarkable 32-year journey in the music industry, Adane Best unveiled plans for a grand concert scheduled for next year.

“32 years in the music is no joke and I plan to do it big. I am already in touch with some of my colleagues to join me on stage when I finally announce the date and the feedback is encouraging,” he shared.

Further exciting news comes in the form of an upcoming album from Adane Best next year. The highlife maestro affirmed his commitment to his fans by stating, “Next year, I am dropping a complete album for my fans who keep asking me when I am releasing a song. The album is for all those who miss my songs. So, relax and enjoy when it is finally out.”
