Sarkodie has acknowledged that he does not feel a sense of pride in releasing the diss track “Try Me,” which is a response to Yvonne Nelson’s memoir, ‘I AM NOT YVONNE NELSON’
He revealed in an exclusive interview with Power FM’s Angela Yee that the impulsive nature of the song was created in a moment of intense emotions and personal reflections.
While he acknowledges that it represents his truth, he also expressed a wish that there could have been a more private and sensitive way for their past to be discussed.
“I am not going sit here and say I am super proud of it, the thing is just in a moment how I felt whether be my truth there should have been a way you could have said it that’s why I don’t like to speak about it because this is a conversation between two people,” he pointed out.
In speaking about the diss track, Sarkodie revealed that he prefers not to engage in public discussions about his past, as it was a deeply personal and private matter between two individuals.

“We could have a conversation if you want to talk about it because it involves me as well but because people know that Sark doesn’t speak, people think they’ll say something and know Sark is not gonna speak and is gonna get away with it so once in a while…” he said.
He also underscored the importance of maintaining the privacy and dignity of such conversations, which should ideally be handled with respect and care.
“To be very honest, it’s a very sensitive conversation, the reason why I didn’t do any media or press tour around the song, is because I might lose how I’ll like to present how I feel about it,” he told Angela Yee and Chellah on the Way Up Show.
