The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially endorsed John Dumelo as the parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
This decision comes after the party successfully facilitated an agreement between the other two contestants, leading them to withdraw from the race and pledge their support to Mr. Dumelo.
In a harmonious display of party unity, the NDC announced their endorsement of John Dumelo through a statement released by Bismark Ahorvi Ayitey, the constituency chairman.
The statement, issued on Sunday, August 13, confirmed that due to this consensus, Mr. Dumelo is now the official NDC parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency in the forthcoming 2024 parliamentary elections.
Notably, movie producer Fred Nuamah had initially declared his intention to contest in the NDC parliamentary primaries for Ayawaso West Wuogon.

However, he later chose to withdraw from the race, opting to lend his support to his fellow colleague in the film industry, John Dumelo.
Despite previous differences, Nuamah expressed his commitment to the NDC’s unity and the overarching goal of the “President John Mahama project,” aimed at revitalizing the nation.
Fred Nuamah stated, “I wholeheartedly endorse and throw my support behind my good friend and brother, Mr. John Dumelo, to be the parliamentary candidate for the NDC in the Ayawaso West-Wuogon constituency.”
He urged his supporters within the party to rally behind Dumelo and provide him with the necessary backing, fostering a renewed sense of unity and purpose.
