Shatta Wale slams FDA and Pharmacy Council for their treatment of women in latest crackdown

Ghanaian Dancehall superstar, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr popularly known as Shatta Wale has lashed out at the Food and Drugs Authority for its unfair treatment of women during a recent sting.

A video of the joint operation by the Pharmacy Council, FDA, and police to apprehend medicine peddlers at Circle NeoPlan and VIP stations has gone viral with the female peddler being dragged by law enforcement in a terrible manner.

Expressing his frustration over the treatment of women during a joint operation, Shatta Wale in a tweet, criticized the approach taken by authorities and underscored the need to respect women in society.

He tweeted, “It’s a good initiative but dragging a WOMAN like that makes no sense These are women for God’s sake let’s know how to run this country. Ah this guy paaa as if he no get wife for house .. Dragging the WOMEN like they killed human beings ..Aahhh !! I bore waaaa mcheeww!!”

Shatta Wale’s tweet was met with mixed reactions from fans with most applauding him for using his platform and agency to raise awareness and advocate for the fair treatment of women.

A fan posted, “They only do this when they know you have no one… That’s why people also start calling those they know in the government sector and they get bored cos you calling some big man or something.”

While another disagreed with his tweet, “So it’s cool to drag men but outrageous when it comes to women. The whole concept of gender equality continues to confuse me daily….seems it’s only sort after when it tends to benefit a particular gender”

The joint operation conducted by the Pharmacy Council, FDA, and police aimed to crack down on medicine peddlers, addressing public health concerns and ensuring the safety of citizens.
