Drawing from his personal experience, Funny Face who experienced mental health issues during a period in his life and career stressed the importance of maintaining connections with the people who have been with you throughout your journey to fame.

According to Funny Face, it is crucial to remain grounded and treat everyone with kindness and respect.

“When you become famous the people, you grow with, never leave them. I’ll use myself as an example, I got that level of celebrity status where I allowed even children to play with me and I’m free and nice to everyone so it was the free and being nice to everyone that helped me in coming back,” he shared.

Using his personal journey as an example, Funny Face explained that his approach of being cordial and kind to everyone played a significant role in his comeback from a period of depression.

“Imagine I was arrogant or too known. When you go through depression and you come back nobody will mind you again but people remember this guy used to be cool and he is nice to everybody,” he stated

By being approachable and humble, he was able to garner support and empathy from people who remembered him as someone who was cool and friendly.

“So people feel sorry for you and gradually people love you again and it gives you the strength to fight on,” he said.

In February 2021, the Kaneshie District Court referred him to be examined by a psychiatrist for his erratic behaviour.

He was later committed to a psychiatric hospital for treatment. Funny Face is the second Ghanaian celebrity to visit the housemates after Adomaa also joined them to speak on mental health.
